A Community-Based Learning Initiative

Bridging the Gap Between School & Home

At the heart of my work is a commitment to building learning experiences that are engaging, accessible, and rooted in purpose.

While I lead these initiatives, they are developed in collaboration with educators and community partners who share a vision for expanding access to personalized learning across Toronto.

Together, we believe education should be adaptable, interest-driven, and empowering for both children and caregivers.

The Learning Pouch Program

Community-Based Learning Initiative (Pilot Phase)

The Learning Pouch Program is a personalized supplemental learning initiative designed to engage children beyond the traditional classroom.

Through a brief consultation, each child is matched with a curated learning pouch aligned with their academic needs, learning style, and personal interests.

Families sign out the materials for a designated period, allowing children to explore the resources at home before returning the pouch to be refreshed, adapted, and circulated to another family. This cyclical lending model ensures that high-quality educational materials remain accessible, sustainable, and community-shared.

Pouches may include:
• Literacy and language development materials
• Foundational math resources
• Science exploration tools
• Creative and project-based activities
• Caregiver guidance to support learning at home

By rotating materials through families, the program reduces financial barriers while maximizing impact. The goal is to increase engagement, build confidence, and provide adaptable learning experiences that meet children where they are.

What kinds of students does the Learning Pouch serve?

The Learning Pouch Program is designed for curious learners from babies through Grade 8. Each pouch includes age-appropriate books, activities, and hands-on learning materials that support different stages of development.

Younger children and babies can enjoy simple stories, flashcards, and sensory learning materials that build early language and curiosity. As children grow, the pouches include activities that support reading, writing, math, science, and creative thinking, helping students explore new ideas and strengthen their skills.

The program works well for homeschooling families, children who enjoy hands-on learning, students who love exploring new topics, and those who benefit from additional enrichment outside of school. Each pouch is designed to spark curiosity and support learning at a pace that feels natural and engaging.

The Learning Pouch Program is currently piloting in King City, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Vaughan, and Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood.
