A Bit About Me

My name is Olivia, and I am an educator with a background in teaching, case management, and biological sciences. My experiences working with children and families have given me a deep appreciation for how different every learner truly is.

I teach piano, mathematics, literacy, and science, and I love helping children build confidence across subjects in a way that feels engaging and supportive. My background in biological sciences influences how I approach science learning — encouraging curiosity, hands-on exploration, and real-world connection.

My mission is to bridge the gap between formal education and home-based learning by creating personalized, multi-subject learning experiences that empower parents and help children grow not only academically, but in confidence and independence as well.

I currently offer services in King City, Richmond Hill, Aurora, and the Junction (Toronto), with virtual options available.

In my role as a Case Manager, my focus is on building and maintaining trust with families and individuals during some of their most challenging times. I work closely with each client to understand their unique story, medical history, and care goals. My work is about more than just coordinating services; it’s about making sure that the care provided is compassionate and that every detail is handled with care. I take pride in fostering long-term, supportive relationships, ensuring that every family feels heard and taken care of throughout the entire process.

Founded and operated a private teaching practice focused on personalized education for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. I specialize in providing one-on-one and group tutoring in subjects including literacy, math, and science. A core part of my work involves creating individualized curriculum and activities that integrate passions like sustainability, animal science, and piano lessons to make learning engaging and impactful.

Olivia Baloo’s Animal Rescue is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to supporting shelters with the care of orphaned newborn kittens and rehabilitating street dogs. The organization provides around-the-clock care for kittens, creates rehabilitation plans for anxious animals, partnering with rescues like Georgina Animal Services and The Baladi Dog Rescue of Ontario for animal

intakes.

In my time as a high school teacher, I worked with students across the full grade 9 to 12 spectrum. My goal was always to make learning feel tangible and to help my students see how their studies actually connected to the real world. I spent my days teaching math and chemistry, but the most rewarding part of the work was the time I spent one-on-one. I loved building that personal connection—helping a student push past a moment of frustration to reach a genuine "aha" moment. To me, it was never just about getting through the curriculum; it was about giving them the confidence and the tools they’d need long after they walked out of my classroom.
